I've been working in Grenoble for about 2 months. I love this city for the great combination of mountains (especially with snow peaks) and river. 2 months are really short but leaves me a solid impression about this city, much more than a touristic stay.

The Chartreuse Mountains (French: massif de la Chartreuse) is a mountain range in eastern France, stretching to the north from the city of Grenoble to the lac du Bourget. It is part of the French Pre-alps. The capital of the Chartreuse Mountains is Voiron.

Grenoble has the reputation to be the "Capital of Alps".

This picture was taken at noon, when the sun light was straight on the statue. Thus the color turned to be more vivid.

Sunset at La Bastille

Where: La Bastille, Grenoble, France
When: April, 2008

Exposure: 1/200 sec

I took this photo on top of La Bastille, Grenoble, France, in last April. I don't think the dynamic range of D80 was capable of catching this sunset through my eye at that moment, i.e. a FX body like D700 would produce a more impressive picture.
